Review of Red Bluff, California

Red Bluff,,, I was forced to move there when I married my husband. I begged to move to a real Californian town, such as San Diego. But No... Red Neck had to move home to Mamma! Red bluff has never had an economy the entire 15 years I was sentenced there. 38, and 47 year olds are your grocery store clerks. Now that says something right there. Housing and land were incredibly cheap. Families from the Bay Area moving up north in droves. Most sold their homes for ridiculous prices, and bought extremely low. After three to four years of living off the sale of their homes, these Bay Area folk are in some serious financial trouble. NO JOBS! Property dropped to ridiculous levels, more than 50% loss in most cases.

So if you have any kind of intelligence, class, style, sophistication, and if you are educated... This is not the place for you.

if low income, unsteady work, car parts in front yard, are your thing... than you will fit right on in.

The mentality is drunk is good, drunk is great, and drunk is even better! A local saying.. arrive on vacation...leave on probation! I was raising a young family and could not take the red neck "get me a beer" mentality. No culture, no sophistication anywhere.

Services are terrible there. I visit an elderly couple there & when we went shopping people in stores were rude & unfriendly. The very worst thing there is that the crime rate is staggering. Burglaries and vandalism rampant. You can check statistics. Tehama county has the second highest crime rate in California. Oh and some of the people are real clickish you know like back when you were in high school and even some of the seniors are this way. After talking to some senior neighbors they say are bullies!!! Can you believe old people trying to bully neighbors. Well that's all the facts folks .

bitter much? It's this kind of thinking that makes me happy to be looking away from city life and the rudeness that goes with alot of it. If you are unhappy with your situation then talk with your husband about it and move somewhere outside of the area, but bashing him and his mother online is hateful and just rude. You married the guy so there must be something about him you love, if not then change your circumstance. You made the choice to move there so I don't know how far your "sophisticated" attitude would get you in a small town. If that's what you like then move to Malibu where it sounds better suited for you. Nobody likes rudeness or a brat in any town big or small. Good luck
